How does a Pet Wellness Plan Work?
Our clients are always looking for ways to put the health of their beloved pets ahead of their own financial concerns. But, as important as routine preventive care can be, it may be difficult to manage these recurring expenses in addition to surprise illnesses or injuries.
Our Wellness Plans 'bundles' all the preventive services that keep your pet healthy throughout the year into an easy monthly payment plan, helping you save money and manage your budget.
What is included in a Pet Wellness Plan?
The Pet Wellness Plans at our two Carrollton hospitals for dogs and cats include all of the essentials your pet needs to thrive all throughout their life.
Our Plans include annual and 6-month wellness exams, core vaccinations, bloodwork, and heartworm testing. They will also include a fecal exam and a 12-month supply of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention medications.
The Importance of Preventive Care
Wellness exams are a comprehensive health checkup for your pet. They will give our vets the chance to treat health issues as they emerge and to check in on your pet's daily nutrition to ensure they're getting us enough daily nutrients.
Sometimes, our pets may appear perfectly healthy by have the earliest signs of disease lurking in their bodies. Sometimes this can be without any obvious symptoms. Because of this, we run bloodwork to make sure your companion is in tip-top shape.
Parasites can be deadly for an animal of any size if left untreated. Prevention provides the best protection, which is why we provide a 12-month supply of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention medication with every Wellness Plan.
If your pet does become infected, our fecal exams and heartworm tests are designed to catch these life-threatening conditions, which are often undetectable until your pet gets seriously ill.

Can I pay for a full year up front?
Yes, you absolutely can pay for a full year when you sign up for their Wellness Plan.
An additional $35 one-time membership fee is collected upon enrolment.

Do Wellness Plans renew automatically after a year?
Yes, unless you request that we cancel your plan, it will renew automatically each year.

How do I make the monthly payments?
Your payment information will be entered into a secure portal when signing your pet up for their plan. You can then choose a withdrawal date between either the 1st or 15th of each month depending on what is best for you.

I have more than one pet. Can I get a discount on multiple wellness plans?
When signing up multiple pets for our plans at the same time, you will only have to pay one $35 enrolment fee instead of once for each pet.

Wellness Plans helps keep senior pets feeling well as they age. Your Wellness Plan can be customized based on your pet's unique recurring needs, and that includes aging-related requirements! Wellness Plans for older pets include the standard core services, in addition to screening for various age-related diseases and disorders.

My pet is young and healthy. Does it make sense to buy a Wellness Plan?
Regular preventive veterinary care for young animals can help build a foundation for good life-long health. When you sign your pet up for a Wellness Plan as a puppy or kitten, puppy/kitten vaccinations are included in the monthly fee.

Wellness Plans at Carroll County Animal Hospital cover the routine care that your dog or cat needs, including wellness exams, parasite prevention, vaccinations and more. You'll also receive a 10% discount on any other service your pet needs, excluding boarding, food and grooming.
